On July 14th 2008, Taw-Ellail talk show on Al-Watan T.V hosted Mr. Fahad
Al Othman, the Chairman of Trusties at the American University of the Middle
East.
Mr. Al Othman talked about the emerging of the AUM after five years of
extensive research and studies - to be an icon of quality higher education
and development in Kuwait, the region, and the world. He sated that the
AUM is aiming to raise the service standards and to contribute to the
establishment and continuous nourishment of strategically-needed industries
through developing well-rounded professionals and entrepreneurs in the
areas of Business, Health, Human Services, Education, and IT. Mr. Al Othman
also talked about how all of the mentioned goals can only be achieved
through a genuine and exceptional learning environment, quality student
life, committed competent faculty, and engaged leadership.
Mr. Al Othman made known that The American College of the Middle East
(ACM) is a private two-year career college offering degrees in the areas
of Business, Information Technology, Health, Hospitality Management, and
Engineering Technology. He announced that the ACM programs are occupationally
focused providing students with real business experience and practical
skills needed in the job market. Mr. Al Othman also verified that the college
seeks excellence in applied education through balancing academic preparation,
hands-on activities, and engagement with industries. He also confirmed
that the ACM is following the best practices in applied higher education,
and responding to the important changes within relative industries and
job markets.
Mr. Al Othman spoke of the V.D.S philosophy behind the educational structure
in AUM, and how the V.D.S campaign targets the Very Dedicated Students
who are aiming for a serious learning experience, dedicated for positive
change, determined on being committed and serious to learn, and who have
the “leader” vision for their future.

The students enjoyed the Speaking class and practiced their skill of having conversation with each other away from the regular classroom atmosphere.
The Drama club organized and created an amazing play with the help of their advisor Ms. Awatef AlAmari.
The Drama club organized and created an amazing play with the help of their advisor Ms. Awatef AlAmari. The play was on the 13th of January 2009 and it was a way for the students to express their gratitude to the faculty.
The play was divided into 8 scenes: Finals, Diwaniyat Al-Bader, Registration, after 2 weeks, E7baaaaaaa6 (Disappointment), First day at university, in the class, after 2 months.
In all scenes students showed us how they first heard about the AUM and the process in which they first applied to the university then got accepted and how each one of the staff and faculty members interacted with the students.

Mrs. Fatima Sokhieva had an indoor class for the English
