Is the ACM licensed?
Yes, the Amiri Decree (No.142) for the year 2003, amended by Amiri Decree (No. 302) for the year 2005, issued the license for establishing the American College of the Middle East.  ACM is also licensed by the Private Universities Council (PUC) – Kuwait, of the Ministry of Higher Education.  Please refer to PUC website http://www.puc.edu.kw/.

Is ACM a branch of an international college/university?
ACM is an independent institution; ACM is not a branch of another college/university.   ACM is licensed and authorized to offer its own degrees.

Is ACM affiliated with any other university?
ACM is affiliated with Purdue University.  The affiliation includes areas related to curriculum development, academic & administration system, quality assurance, observance of accreditation standards, and other related areas.

Do you offer joint degrees with Purdue University?
ACM does not offer joint degrees with Purdue University.  ACM is an independent institution and is not a branch of another college/university.  ACM is licensed and authorized to offer its own degrees.

What does a career college mean? What is special about ACM?
Our programs are occupationally focused, providing students with real business experience and practical skills needed in the job market. The college seeks excellence in applied education through balancing academic preparation, hands-on activities, and engagement with industries. ACM is following the best practices in applied higher education, and responding to the important changes within relative industries and job markets.

What is the relationship between ACM & AUM?
ACM maintains a close professional relation with the American University of the Middle East as a sister institution.

Is ACM gender segregated?
All our classes are gender segregated, as we comply with Private Universities Council – Kuwait of the Ministry of Higher Education rules & regulations.

Will the graduation certificate be authenticated by ACM or Purdue?
The certificates and transcripts students will receive after completing their diploma will be authenticated and awarded by ACM, and authenticated by Private University Council (PUC).

Do you offer an English Foundation Program for those who are weak in English?
Yes, we do offer an “English Preparatory Program - EPP” directed to students who do not meet the English Proficiency requirements of the college. 

Who will help students register into their classes? And who can assist them if they had academic related problems?
Once the student is accepted into ACM, he or she can contact the academic advisor, of the program to which they were admitted to, in order to provide them with their program’s plan of study and assist them with the registration process.  The Academic Advisors are the ones who will be providing academic assistance and support to students in case they experienced any difficulty or problem throughout the program.

If I am to transfer to Purdue in USA, will my credits be transferable to Purdue University?
You will be considered as a ‘Transfer Student’ between two institutions, rules pertaining to Transfer students at both ACM and Purdue apply.

Where can I get the admission application form from?
Interested applicants may pick up the admission application from the ‘Student Information Center’ at our campus.  In addition, you may download the admission application from our website.

When can we start applying to ACM?
Students may start applying to ACM as of Now.

Who will make the decision if I’m accepted or not? Why? What are the criteria based on?
The admission committee will review the applications and assess the qualifications of each candidate.  ACM will be evaluating applicants according to a score-based evaluation system.  Scores will be assigned against each admission criteria.  Students with high overall score are the ones who will be admitted into the college.
