Business Programs – Human Resources

“Human resource management (HRM) is the strategic and coherent approach to the management of an organization's most valued assets - the people working there who individually and collectively contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the business.”

Program Overview & Objectives

The Human Resources Management Program at the American College of the Middle East (ACM) primarily equips the graduates with broad knowledge and solid execution skills to start and develop a career in this field. The HRM function has undergone tremendous change over the past years. Years ago, large organizations looked at the personnel department, mostly to manage the paperwork around hiring and paying people. Today's human resources professionals are at the heart of modern business, ensuring the fair treatment of individuals in an organization and fulfilling an important role in a company’s performance.

The program will prepare ACM’s graduates to implement different HR tasks such as: maintaining personnel records; administering aptitude tests & training programs; assisting in the hiring process; answering employee inquiries; preparing reports for managers; and screening applicants. Graduates will have the ability to apply all of the above by utilizing the best IT functional technologies through internships, projects, hands-on activities, and related industry assignments.

As students graduate, and professional development continues, the major also prepares students to join an undergraduate education leading to a Bachelor degree in human resource management. In addition the graduates have a choice of pursuing technical advanced certificates and diplomas.

Career Opportunities

HR departments are found in all sectors, and in nearly all medium and large organizations. Graduates may pursue careers in HR Coordination, Personnel, Training, Employee Relations, and Recruitment.
