At Student Affairs and Counseling Department, counselors may meet with parents to discuss academic or behavioral issues regarding the students.
Orientation Program
Each semester, the students are invited to attend an orientation day one week prior to the start of the semester.
The Orientation is organized by the student affairs and counseling department and it includes all new students registered for the current semester.
The Student orientation includes taking the students on a tour of the campus, providing an IT training session on the use of webmail and moodle, and distributing the student handbook and discussing rules and regulations. The orientation also includes a brief presentation on the various clubs and student activities at ACM
During the orientation sessions students receive their IDs and schedules for the upcoming semester. They are also given a chance to register their vehicles and receive a parking decal.
Counseling Center
ACM offers various counseling services to guide the students throughout their educational path. These services include academic counseling, career counseling and personal counseling. All counseling services are conducted in privacy by a qualified counselor. Counseling sessions are all documented and placed in the students’ file. All these sessions are treated with professionalism and confidentiality.
Policies and Procedures
The Student Affairs and Counseling department aids in setting up policy and procedure and is responsible for the implementation of the policy and procedure specified in the student handbook. Students come to Student Affairs and Counseling Department when they have complaints, issues that need resolving, or simply when they have questions and inquiries. Student Affairs and Counseling Department acts as the implementing agent of the policy and issues warnings, probation letters and dismissals if needed. These warnings are generally issued if students violate the code of conduct and commit any academic or non-academic misconduct.
