1- Application requirements:

Applicant must pass the following; in the case of not meeting one of the below requirements, application is considered rejected.

  • High School GPA/percentage of 2.00 / 60% or above for Science Section certified by the Kuwait Ministry of Education, high school certificate must not be older than 3 years. High School GPA/percentage will be recalculated based on the College Manual.
  • Passing the Required Grades of the English Placement Test at ACM with a score of level (1) or above. Applicants may re-take the English language test only once in the event the student achieves level (B) and above, and if the student achieves a lower level when retaking the test, the higher level achieved shall be considered.
    English Language Assessment Test scores from highest to lowest:

    • Level 3
    • Level 2
    • Level 1
    • Level B
    • Level A
  • A score of 40% at minimum on the Math Assessment Test.
    • Applicant who have not passed the English language placement test shall be entitled to re-apply for new admission and open a new file at the subsequent admission times as shall be announced at the time , provided the student’s admission has not been rejected for other reason under ACM Admission Policy.
  • Applications submitted by former students who withdrew from college or were dismissed are not accepted and their admission will not be activated.
  • Applicant who was previously enrolled in any other higher academic institution(s) post High school Graduation, should submit documents as proof of such from that specific higher academic institution. Moreover, that student should not have been subjected to academic or non-academic dismissal from any other higher academic institution.
  • Applicant of 21 years of age and above should not be a convict of crime, and must submit a recent valid clear criminal record (not exceeding 3 months) upon application.

2- Admission Requirements:

Student level will be assessed according to Admission Assessment Grade (AAG) for admission system. And the student must achieve 55% or above. The process of calculation is as follows:

  • 40% of the total percentage of high school or (GPA).
  • 20% of the total as a result of the English Language test.
  • 20% of the total as a result of the math test.
  • 20% of the total as a result of Communication skills test.

3- Other Terms and Conditions:

  1. Acceptances are only valid for the semester to which the student applied for and no delay is allowed for any reason.
  2. ACM requires applicants to indicate details of any special needs and / or support required for their study, for the college to be able to confirm ability to support the students’ health condition.
  3. Students are required to submit to the college, any academic and/or non-academic warnings previously received by other institutions by indicating and updating all information required on the Admission Application.
  4. It is the student’s responsibility to inform the College about any physical or psychological complications they are suffering; any cases of addiction, or any serious violations or penalties issued against him.
  5. The student acknowledges that the information requested in the application form, is not all the information necessary and needed for the purpose of the admission. The College reserves the right to request any extra student information.
  6. Student Acknowledges his full responsibility of the accuracy of information enclosed in his Admission Application, and any violation will lead to student’s dismissal from College.
  7. Student acknowledges responsibility to read and review all the conditions and policies related to the admission, which is available on the college’s official website.
  8. Student acknowledges that his Admission is subject to changes upon further modifications during the process of Admission and until the last day of Add/Drop of the semester applied for.
  9. ACM reserves the right to reject any applicant in the event of any act of misbehavior or misconduct; or violation of the Rules and Regulations of the College during Application and Admission Process.
  10. Upon applying to the admission for ACM, The student grants the College the right to approach all the Educational institutions attended by the student directly to request and receive all the academic and non-academic records of the student. In addition to the records from existing and previous employers.
  11. ACM reserves the right to alter changes in the Educational Curriculum, Course Scheduled timings, syllabus, and major subjects.
  12. The American College of the Middle East reserves the right to adjust or increase the Academic fees, or any other fees.
  13. It is the applicant’s responsibility to be aware of the tuition fees structure and payment procedures.
  14. Student acknowledges that in the case of Government Grant enrolment, student is responsible for other fees and payments not covered by the Government Grant/ rules.
  15. Student acknowledges that in case he wishes to change Major prior to enrolment, the following should apply:
    • Achieving Admission requirements to the major desired.
    • Subject to availability of number of seats to the major desired.
    • In case of need to acquire Government grant to the new major, student takes responsibility to acquire the grant. And that should be after passing the rules of ACM changing major policy.

4- Acceptance of the admission application:

ACM reserves the right to accept or reject any application without stating reason.

5- Registration and Enrolment:

  1. Direct-Entry Acceptance:
    Students Applying for the Information Technology Program must pass the ACM English tests with the required levels as shown below. Otherwise student will receive a conditional acceptance, and will be registered in the English Preparatory Program courses (EPP).
    Achieving one of the following:

    • Level (3) or above in the English Exam.
    • International TOEFL result with a score of 79-80 in IBT – 213 CBT- 550PBT and above.
    • Academic IELTS result with a score of 6 and above.

    Conditions for accepting TOEFL/IELTS scores:

    1. Obtaining a score of at least 79-80 in IBT – 213 CBT- 550/PBT in the Official International TOEFL or a minimum score of 6 in the Official Academic IELTS.
    2. The deadline for accepting official TOEFL/IELTS scores for the new students is the last day of the Add/Drop period of the registered semester, which exempts the student from English preparatory program.
    3. After the end of the add and drop period, the student should attend and pass the first level of the English preparatory program in order to accept his/her TOEFL/IELTS scores, which exempts him/her from level 2 of the English preparatory program. No scores will be accepted during or after academic semester in case of failure.
    4. EPP level 2 students are entitled to submit at any time official TOEFL/IELTS scores, which exempts them from passing level 2 of the English preparatory program. And they will be enrolled in the undergraduate program at the beginning of the following semester.
    5. In the case of freezing the EPP semester, student is granted the right to submit TOEFL/IELTS scores before the last day of Add/Drop week, of the following semester.
  2. Conditional Acceptance:
    Students that do not pass the English language tests like shown below, fall under this category:

    • Level (3) or above in the English Exam.
    • International TOEFL result with a score of 79-80 in IBT – 213 CBT- 550PBT and above.
    • Academic IELTS result with a score of 6 and above.

    Students that fall under this category must commit to the following:

    • Attend and pass the English Preparatory Program (EPP) courses with a minimum of 70%
    • Students with conditional acceptances are not allowed to register in other courses at ACM, until they pass EPP courses.
    • In case of failure in the EPP course, each level can be repeated only once. Failure in the second attempt will result in dismissal from the College.

    Conditions for accepting TOEFL/IELTS scores:
