1- Application requirements:

Applicant is required to fulfill all of the following conditions:

  1. High School GPA/percentage of 2.00 / 60% or above for Science Section certified by the Kuwait Ministry of Education, and the graduation date must not exceed the admission committee approved period.
  2. Note:
    • High School GPA/percentage will be recalculated based on the College manual for educational institutions that do not follow the unified secondary education system certified by the Ministry of Education – State of Kuwait.
  3. Passing the English Placement test at ACM with a score of 110 as a minimum.
  4. Note:
    • Applicants may retake the English language test only once in the event of achieving score of 90 and above, and the higher score achieved will be considered after repeating the test. The Admission Committee has the right to provide additional opportunities to redo the exam, as it deems appropriate.
    • The applicant who did not pass the English Language test has the right to re-apply for new admission and open a new file in subsequent admission periods that are announced, provided that the student’s admission has not been rejected for any other reason under the college admission policy.
  5. A Passing a score of 40% as a minimum on the Math Assessment Test
  6. Note:
    • The applicant may re-take the mathematics test only once in the event of receiving a score of 20% and the higher score achieved will be considered after repeating the test. The Admission Committee has the right to provide additional opportunities to redo the exam, as it deems appropriate.
    • The applicant who has not passed the Math test shall be entitled for new admission at the subsequent admission time as shall be announced at the appropriate time, provided the student’s admission has not been rejected for other reasons under ACM Admission Policy.
  7. Applicant must complete the admission application and submit the following documents:
    • Certified high school certificate from Kuwait ministry of education.
    • Copy of valid Civil ID.
    • Personal Photo (Passport size).
    • Admission Application form.
    • Admission Application Fees receipt.
    • Copy of Passport.
    • Any other reports requested by administration / Admission Committee.
    • Signature and approval (Electronically or on paper) on ACM admission application terms and conditions.

  • Applications submitted by former students who were dismissed are not accepted and their admission will not be activated.
  • يجب ألا يكون المتقدم قد تم فصله من كلية الشرق الأوسط الأمريكية سابقاً، ولا يجوز إعادة تفعيل القبول
  • ACM’s re-Admission policy will apply on applicants who withdrew from ACM.
  • في حال كان المتقدم منسحبا من كلية الشرق الأوسط الأمريكية، تطبّق سياسة إعادة الإلتحاق بالكلية.
  • The applicant should not have been subjected to academic or non-academic dismissal from any other higher academic institution, and should submit documents as proof of such from previously enrolled higher academic institution(s) post high school graduation.
  • يجب ألا يكون المتقدم قد تم فصله أو طرده لأسباب أكاديمية أو غير أكاديمية من مؤسسات تعليم عالي سابقة، كما يتوجب عليه تقديم “مايثبت ذلك” من أي مؤسسة تعليمية سبق والتحق بها بعد الثانوية العامة.
  • An applicant of 21 years of age or above who discontinued his/her studies for more than one academic year, must submit a recent valid clear criminal record (not exceeding 3 months) upon application.
  • في حال كان عمر الطالب المتقدم أكثر من 21 عاماً وكان منقطعاً عن الدراسة لأكثر من سنة أكاديمية، يتوجب عليه قبل تقديم الطلب للكلية إثبات بأن لا حكم عليه وذلك بإحضار صحيفة الحالة الجنائية بتاريخ حديث (لا يتجاوز 3 أشهر من تاريخ تقديم الطلب).
  • Acceptances are only valid for the semester in which the student applied to and no deferral is allowed.
  • إن قرار القبول هو فقط للفصل الدراسي الذي تقدم الطالب له، ولا يجوز تأجيل هذا القبول للفصول الأخرى اللاحقه.
  • The applicant must specify to ACM if he/she has any special needs so that the College can determine the ability to meet these needs.
  • يجب على الطالب المتقدم أن يحدد للكلية إذا كانت لديه أية إحتياجات خاصة (Special Needs)، حتى يتسنى للكلية تحديد إذا ما كانت قادرة على تلبية هذه الإحتياجات.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to inform the College about any physical or psychological complications they are suffering from; any cases of addiction, or any serious violations or penalties issued against him/her.
  • يقع على عاتق الطالب مسؤولية إبلغ الكلية بأي أمراض جسدية أو نفسية يعاني منها أو أي حالت إدمان أو أي انتهاكات أو عقوبات خطيرة صادرة ضده
  • The applicant is required to submit to the College any academic and/or non-academic warnings previously received by other institutions.
  • يجب على الطالب المتقدم أن يزوّد الكلية بالإنذارات الأكاديمية/غير الأكاديمية التي وجهت له في المؤسسات التعليمية التي إلتحق بها سابقاً.
  • In addition to the information required in the Admission application form, the applicant acknowledges that he/she is responsible to provide ACM with all the academic and/or non-academic information from previous educational institutions that he/she was enrolled in. This includes health information, serious violations, criminal court rulings, etc.
  • بالإضافة الى المعلومات المطلوبة في إستمارة تقديم الطلب يقر الطالب المتقدم بأنه مسؤول عن تزويد الكلية بكل المعلومات الأكاديمية والغير أكاديمية في المؤسسات التعليمية التي سبق وانتسب إليها، وكذلك المعلومات الصحية أو المخالفات الجسيمة، أو أية أحكام قضائية جزائية.
  • The applicant acknowledges that the information requested in the application form is not all the information necessary and needed for the purpose of the admission. The college reserves the right to request any extra student information.
  • يقر الطالب بأن المعلومات المطلوبة في استمارة تقديم الطلب ليست شاملة لكافة المعلومات الضرورية واللازمة لعملية القبول، ويحق للكلية أن تطلب من الطالب أية معلومات إضافية.
  • The applicant acknowledges their full responsibility for the accuracy of information enclosed in their admission application, and any violation will lead to the student’s dismissal from the College
  • يقر الطالب المتقدم بأن دقة وشمولية المعلومات المقدمة هي من مسؤولية الطالب، وأية مخالفة لذلك تعرّض الطالب للفصل النهائي من الكلية.
  • The applicant acknowledges his/her responsibility to read and review all the conditions and policies related to the admission, which is available on the College’s official website.
  • يقر الطالب المتقدم بأنه مسؤول مسؤولية تامة عن قراءة ومراجعة الشروط العامة والخاصة بعملية القبول في الكلية والمتوفرة على الموقع الإلكتروني الرسمي للكلية. (www.acm.edu.kw)
  • ACM reserves the right to make changes in the admissions policy and procedure anytime during the period of admission and until the last day of the add/drop period, and the student acknowledges that his/her admission is subject to any amendments made to the admission policy.
  • يحق للكلية أثناء عملية القبول وحتى انتهاء فترة السحب والإضافة إجراء تعديلات على سياسة القبول، ويقر الطالب بأن قبوله يخضع لأي تعديلات تجري على سياسة القبول.
  • ACM reserves the right to reject any applicant in the event of any act of misbehavior or misconduct; or violation of the rules and regulations of the College during the application and admission process.
  • يحق للكلية رفض أي طلب نتيجة السلوك السيئ للمتقدم بالطلب، أو مخالفته للوائح والقوانين والنظم والأخلاق العامة خلال فترة عملية القبول.
  • Upon applying for admission at ACM, the applicant grants the College the right to approach all the educational institutions attended by the applicant directly to request and receive all their academic and non-academic records, in addition to the records from existing and previous employers.
  • يحق للكلية مخاطبة المؤسسات التعليمية والغير تعليمية الأخرى لاستلام والحصول على بيانات وكشوفات ومعلومات أكاديمية وغير أكاديمية عن الطالب المتقدم، بما فيها معلومات من رب أو أرباب العمل التي كان ولا يزال الطالب يعمل فيها.
  • ACM reserves the right to make changes in the educational curricula, course scheduled timings, syllabus, study plan, and amend tuition and/or any other fees.
  • بعد قبول الطالب المتقدم يحق لكلية الشرق الأوسط الأمريكية تغييرالمنهج الدراسي، أوقات المحاضرات، الخطة الدراسية والمواد الدراسية وتعديل الرسوم الدراسية و/أو أية رسوم أخرى في أي وقت، ويطبق ذلك على جميع الطلبة المقبولين والمقيدين.
  • Student employee (Government sector – private sector) acknowledges his knowledge and commitment to the following:
  • يقر الطالب الموظف (قطاع حكومي – قطاع خاص) بعلمه وإلتزامه بما يلي
  • The approved system of study at the American College of the Middle East is a regular one within the college campus.
  • أن النظام المعتمد للدراسة في كلية الشرق الأوسط الأمريكية هو إنتظام داخل حرم الكلية.
  • The system of study at the college is full-time, with the obligation to enroll in a full academic load (at least 12 academic units in each semester except the summer semester).
  • أن نظام الدراسة في الكلية هو دوام كامل، مع الإلتزام بالتسجيل في عبء دراسي كامل (12 وحدة دراسية على الأقل في كل فصل دراسي ماعدا الفصل الدراسي الصيفي)
  • That registering for the classes commensurate with his/her working hours is his/her responsibility, and that the college is not responsible for providing study divisions commensurate with his/her working hours.
  • أن التسجيل في محاضرات تتناسب مع أوقات عمله هي مسؤوليته، وبأن الكلية غير مسؤولة عن توفير شعب دراسية بما يتناسب مع أوقات عمله
  • It is the applicant’s responsibility to be aware of the tuition fee structure and payment procedures.
  • يقر الطالب المتقدم بأنه مسؤول عن المعرفة والإلمام بنظام وآلية تسديد المستحقات المالية.
  • The applicant acknowledges that in the case of Government Grant Enrolment, he/she is responsible for other fees and payments not covered by the Government grant/rules.
  • يقر الطالب المتقدم أنه في حال خضوعه لمنحة حكومية أو لأي منح أخرى، إلتزامه بتحمل جميع الرسوم والتكاليف التي لا تخضع لشروط المنحة.
  • The applicant acknowledges that in case he/she wishes to change their major prior to enrolment, the following should apply:
  • يقر الطالب المتقدم أنه في حال رغبته في تغيير التخصص قبل بدء الدراسة في الكلية ، إلتزامه بما يلي:
  • Fulfilling admission requirements of the desired major
  • استيفاء شروط القبول في التخصص المراد التحويل إليه.
  • Acceptance is subject to the availability of seats in the desired major.
  • تغيير التخصص يخضع لتوفر المقاعد في التخصص المراد التحويل إليه.
  • In case of need to acquire a Government grant to the new major, the student takes responsibility to acquire the grant pending him/her passing the rules of ACM changing major policy.
  • في حال الرغبة في الحصول على بعثة دراسية في التخصص الجديد، فإن الطالب يتحمل مسؤولية الحصول عليها، وذلك بعد موافقة الكلية على تغيير التخصص.
  • The applicant acknowledges his/her understanding and commitment to the terms and conditions for applying to and enrolling at the American College of the Middle East.
  • يقر الطالب بمعرفة و بالالتزام بشروط و احكام تقديم الطلب و الانتساب الى كلية الشرق الأوسط الامريكية.

3 – Admission committee:

The Admission Committee shall study the applicants’ admission file to ACM verifying all stages of the admission process, and granting them admission according to the admission policy approved by the college. ACM has the right to reject or accept any request(s) without justifying the reason(s) and reserves the right to accept or reject any application without stating the reason

4 – Registration and Enrolment:

1- Direct-Entry Acceptance:

Direct Entry acceptance and registration requires for the student to pass both Math and English placement tests as mentioned hereunder, otherwise, acceptance will be conditional and the student will be registered in the preparatory program:

  1. Obtaining one of the following Scores:
    • Score (180) or above in the ACM English Language Skill Assessment Test
    • Score 60 points or above in the International TOEFL – iBT
    • Score 6 points or above in the Academic IELTS.
  2. Mathematics Test:
    • Passing score for the mathematics exam is 70% and above
  3. 2- Conditional Acceptance:

    a.Conditional Acceptance- Category 1:

    Students that pass the Math test with 70 % as a minimum score and did not achieve any of the minimum scores in the English language tests needed for direct entry.

    In order to get enrolled to Diploma in Information Technology programs:

    • The student should pass the English Preparatory Program (EPP) – non-credit courses with a minimum score of 70%.
    • Not register in any other course at ACM before passing the EPP.
    • In case of failure, each level can be repeated only once. Failure in the second attempt will result in dismissal from the College.

    b.Conditional Acceptance- Category 2:

    Students that pass the Math test with less than 70% and score one of the English language tests that is needed for direct entry.

    In order to get enrolled to Diploma in Information Technology programs:

    Conditional acceptance:(Category 2-A):

    • Passing a non credit Introduction to Math course (Level 2) with a minimum grade of “C”, in case of passing the Math test with 60% and above, but less than 70%.
    • Students that do not score the minimum required grade in the Math assessment test that falls under Category 2-A can register to other general courses within their major at ACM (up to 6 credits). This does not mean Direct Entry Acceptance until the student meets the conditional admission requirements for Category 2-A.

    Conditional acceptance: (Category 2-B):

    • Passing a non credit Introduction to Math course (Level 1 and Level 2) with a minimum grade of “C”, in case of passing the Math test with more than 40% but less than 60%.
    • Students with conditional acceptance under this category are not allowed to register in other courses at ACM during studying the Math preparatory course (Level 1).
    • The Student with conditional acceptance under this category can register to other general courses (up to 6 credits) within their programs in ACM when studying Math preparatory course (Level 2). This does not mean Direct Entry Acceptance until the student meets the conditional admission requirements for Category 2-B.


      The Math Preparatory courses can be repeated only once in case of failure. During repetition, the student is not allowed to register to any credit courses at ACM.

      Failure in the second attempt will result in dismissal from the college.

    Conditional Acceptance- Category 3:

    The student that passes the Math test with less than 70% score and fails the English test falls under this category:

    In order to get enrolled to Diploma in Information Technology programs:

    Conditional acceptance: (Category 3-A):

    • Passing the English Preparatory Program (EPP) non-credit program with a minimum of 70%.
    • Passing a non credit Introduction to Math course (Level 2) with a minimum grade of “C”, in case of passing the admission Math test with 60% and above, but less than 70%.

    Conditional acceptance: (Category 3-B):

    • Passing the English Preparatory Program (EPP) non-credit program with a minimum of 70%.
    • Passing a non credit Introduction to Math course (Level 1 and Level 2) with a minimum grade of “C”, in case of passing the admission Math test with 40% and above, but less than 60%.


      Category 3 students – with conditional Acceptance are not to register in other courses at ACM until they pass both EPP courses and the Math preparatory course.

      In case of failure in the EPP course, each level can be repeated only once. Failure in the second attempt will result in the student’s dismissal from the College.

      In case of failure in the Math preparatory course; the course is to be repeated only once. Failure in the second attempt will result in student’s dismissal from the University.

    Conditions for accepting TOEFL/IELTS scores:

    1. The deadline for accepting official TOEFL/IELTS scores for the new students is the last day of the Add/Drop period of the registered semester, which exempts the student from the English preparatory program.
    2. After the end of the add and drop period, the student should attend and pass the first level of the English preparatory program in order to accept his/her TOEFL/IELTS scores, which exempts him/her from level 2 of the English preparatory program. No scores will be accepted during or after academic semester in case of failure.
    3. Students from level 1 of EPP are obligated to finish the semester if they do not submit the required Official International TOEFL or Official Academic IELTS test scores before the end of the add /drop period in the same semester.
    4. EPP level 2 students are entitled to submit at any time their official TOEFL/IELTS scores, which exempts them from passing level 2 of the English preparatory program. By doing so, they will get enrolled in the undergraduate program at the beginning of the following semester. In the case of freezing the EPP semester, the student is granted the right to submit TOEFL/IELTS scores before the last day of Add/Drop week, of the following semester.
