Degree Requirements

The Diploma in Chemical Engineering Technology degree requires a minimum total of 65 credit hours and a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 2.00

  • Minimum Chemical Engineering Technology Core Requirements (35 Credit hours)
    • Chemical Engineering Technology Core Requirements (35 Credit hours)
    (2) ET 131 (3) CHT 100, (2) CHT 101, (3) CHT 102, (1) CHT 201, (1) CHT 202, (4) CHT 203, (4) CHT 204, (4) CHT 205, (1) CHT 210, (3) CHT 211, (3) CHT 212, (1) CHT 213, (1) CHT 214, (2) CHT 215.
  • Math and Science Requirements (16 credit hours):
    • Quantitative Reasoning (8 credit hours): (4) MA 165, (4) MA 166
    • Scientific Ways of Knowing (8 credit hours) : (4) PHYS 218, (4) CHM 115
  • Liberal Arts Requirements (14 credit hours):
    • English Language and Communication Skills (10 credit hours): (3) ENGL 100, (4) ENGL 107, (3) COM 114
    • General Education Requirement (GEE) (4 credit hours):
      Students must satisfy the requirements of General Education as per the following conditions:
      1. Courses must be drawn from the Liberal Arts Department and from the General Education areas below (refer to the Liberal Arts Department section in the ACM Course Catalogue).
      2. The General Education areas are defined as follows:
        1. English Language and Communications Skills
        2. Social and Behavioral Ways of Knowing
        3. Humanistic and Artistic Ways of Knowing
        4. Interdisciplinary Ways of Knowing
      3. Courses may also be drawn from math, science, and professional selective courses as offered by ACM and with the Director’s permission.
      4. Courses that are already required under a category other than General Education Elective, cannot be considered as a GEE course.
      5. ACM has the right to advise a student on a specific course under the GEE category.
      6. ACM has the right to assign some of the credits in the “General Education Requirement (GEE)” which are to be considered as part of the degree requirements in the form of course(s) available in the course catalogue (other than existing courses in the GEE category ) with Director’s approval. For example, Professional Selectives and Internship Courses may be offered at ACM discretion as mandatory selective and to be considered as part of the degree requirements.
